Delaware Park Chemical Engine Company No. 1 will be holding our Wet Down Ceremony today, Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM in Park Square.

Please be advised that from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM:

• Park Avenue (North 1st Street to North 3rd Street)
• Park Square
• North 2nd Street (Aurora Street to North Prospect Street)

will be closed to traffic, and no traffic will be permitted into Park Square except for event participants.

“No Parking” signs and barricades are in place—please follow all posted restrictions.

All residents and neighbors are invited to come out, celebrate with us, and enjoy the day.

New Jersey is considering letting your kid earn gym and health credits by learning to fight fires. 🔥

A bill introduced in Trenton - Senate Bill S1343 - would allow high school students ages 16–18 to count completion of a county fire academy course toward graduation requirements in health, safety, and physical education.

The catch? They have to commit to two years of volunteering with their local fire department.

Sponsors Sen. Pennacchio and Sen. Bucco say the idea is to recognize real-world public safety training while giving New Jersey’s volunteer fire departments something they desperately need: the next generation.
