Thank you for your understanding with both locations being closed today. Two of our Gem Mountain family graduated from High School today. Congratulations to all 8 members of the Granite County High School Graduating Class of 2026.

A true sign that summer is just around the corner, the gates to the Skalkaho Pass, Montana Highway 38 (MT 38), will re-open for the 2026 summer season on Friday, May 22, at 10 a.m. Time to get outside and enjoy the warmer weather! Always check 511mt.net before you go.

17 DAYS till our mining location on Skalkaho opens up for the 2026 summer season. May 20th through September 5th. For the location, Wednesday-Saturday 9:30-5:30pm, with the exception of Friday, we close at 5pm. We are CLOSED Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. 4th of July we are OPEN 9:30-4pm. For a little added fun, please join us on Thursdays and wear Tye-dye. For everyone who wears Tye-dye will get to enter into our monthly drawing to win some Gem Mountain swag and a Mini Miner bag.

For our downtown location: We are open 7 days a week. 9am to 5pm. MAY 24th, we are closed for graduation. 4th of July we are 9am to 4pm.

We've had a great morning visiting with students and staff from Philipsburg and Drummond at a very well organized Career Fair. You will probably meet some these fine individuals this summer when you visit.

A Sapphire that Glows Pink!

This Cusion cut sapphire is going home to a customer this week and I was so glad to package up their order!

Their sapphire glows pink under a uv light because of the chromium content. The more chromium a sapphire has, the more intense the pink color is in daylight and under uv.
