We are deeply grateful to聽you鈥攖he gardeners, supporters, and partners who make it possible for NGT to protect and nurture a growing network of community gardens and green spaces across Philadelphia. Thanks to your dedication, we are gaining momentum in securing more cherished spaces, ensuring they remain vibrant hubs of nourishment, learning, and connection for generations to come.

As the growing season comes to a close, we are reflecting on all we have accomplished together this year and the impact felt across our city鈥攂ountiful harvests shared, celebrations held, workdays completed, cultural gatherings hosted, wellness programs offered, and urban landscapes restored.
Your commitment is invaluable, and we look forward to continuing this work in partnership with you in the months and years ahead.

馃帀Big news from today鈥檚 City Council hearing!

Councilmember Jamie Gauthier introduced and successfully passed a bill transferring ownership of the Summer Winter Garden from the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority to NGT, securing the garden鈥檚 permanent preservation. Her support throughout this long process has been invaluable, thank you, !

馃尡 Located at 33rd and Race Streets in Powelton, the Summer Winter Garden has been serving the community since 1976. More than 60 volunteer gardeners grow hundreds of pounds of fresh produce each year, which goes to the Mantua Haverford Community Center Food Pantry, supports Drexel University鈥檚 Culinary Arts curriculum, and helps other local programs.

馃 This is a win for the Powelton Village community and a powerful sign of hope for other community gardens and shared open spaces across Philadelphia that urgently need protection. Our work isn鈥檛 done yet, but today is a meaningful step forward.
