Last night at the WSFCS Board meeting I sat beside Sandra—the principal of the Special Children’s School. She’s doing the Lord’s work and has been for the past 15 years. The school boards, superintendent and Executive Cabinet collectively are an absolute disgrace. Only 3 of the 9 board members voted to leave this school as is. To say this is a travesty is not saying enough. At the meeting I addressed the board and told them, yet again, that cuts to the highest paid, non student facing positions were in most needed. Incredibly, there is no appetite for that at this time. The school district is more concerned with asserting power, destroying the lives of the most vulnerable, and continuing to support bad policy. It’s disheartening, discouraging and demotivating. This only clarifies the need for more effective leadership. I declared my candidacy in December to volunteer to do that work. I can only do that if Forsyth county voters allow me that opportunity to serve. I need your vote.
