Philadelphia City Council formally recognized June as Reentry Awareness Month in 2019, citing the intersections of reentry as a social, public safety, community and economic issue. Every day, hundreds of thousands of Philadelphians come home from federal, state, and local prisons and jails. They begin the process of returning to our communities, raising families, seeking employment, and trying to build stable lives.

In June we celebrate the returning citizens who show up every day with resilience and determination and work to bring awareness as well as honor the providers, employers, advocates, and faith leaders doing this work alongside us.

Today the PRC hosted Mural Arts Philadelphia for an interactive workshop on restorative justice and restorative practices! Thank you to restorative practitioner and artist Joseph Iacona, who lead these trainings to enhance those working with reentry participants and community programs.

Awesome turnout for today’s record clearing clinic in partnership with Philadelphia Lawyers for Social Equity (PLSE), Uplift Solutions, and Covenant House Health Services. More than 50 men and women joined us to begin exploring the record clearing process!

The Philadelphia Reentry Coalition under the Division of Reentry and Mural Arts Philadelphia invite you to join us for an interactive workshop on restorative justice and restorative practices! We’re teaming up with The Mayor’s Office of Black Male Engagement, the Mayor’s Commission on African American Males, the Office of Public Engagement & Neighborhood Affairs, and the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, for a Child Support, Custody, and Paternity Workshop.

This session will include a special presentation from the Director of Child Support Enforcement from the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, offering valuable insight and guidance.

The City of Philadelphia’s Office of Public Safety – Division of Reentry is hosting a FREE Record Clearing Clinic for individuals with a criminal record in Philadelphia County. Legal support will be on site to review records, provide guidance, and help community members understand their options.
