🦅 TW2 RECAP 🦅

Det 750 kicked off TW2 with a week focused on preparation, leadership, and continued development.

Cadets participated in PT to prepare for the semester’s first PFA next week, while those who completed Field Training received their butter bar pin to mark the completion of an important milestone. The pin serves as a reminder of the ultimate goal of AFROTC: earning a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force or Space Force.

Squadron commanders also met with cadets to help shape the semester ahead, while cadets put their Warrior Knowledge to the test and continued developing their drill skills through instruction and practice.

The groundwork has been laid, and TW2 focused on building on the knowledge gained during TW1 while preparing for the semester ahead. Through continued practice and development, cadets are strengthening the skills, discipline, and teamwork needed to succeed in future training and leadership opportunities. 🦅✈️🚀

✈️🦅 TW1 🦅✈️
Det 750 kicked off the semester by welcoming cadets back and laying the foundation for a successful year ahead. Cadets received an overview of the semester and expectations from cadre and the Cadet Wing Commander, along with uniform guidance and an introduction to GLPs.

100s and 250s learned introductory drill, while 200s and 500s reviewed drill and practiced transit. Cadets also had the opportunity to learn more about the many opportunities available within the Detachment through a club table session featuring AAS, Rated Club, Honor Guard, and i5.

TW1 was all about building a strong foundation, creating clarity around expectations, and connecting cadets with the resources and opportunities available at Det 750. With the semester officially underway, there is plenty to look forward to as cadets continue to grow, improve, and make the most of the year ahead. 🚀🦅

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: 2ND LT YEKTA

This semester, Det 750 is conducting Alumni Spotlights to highlight the different paths and opportunities that await cadets after graduation and showcase what life after Det 750 looks like.

First up is 2nd Lt Yekta, a Villanova University Class of 2025 graduate who recently completed Undergraduate Pilot Training. Following UPT and PIT, he will return to Vance AFB as an instructor pilot, beginning the next chapter of his career in the cockpit.

On September 19, Detachment 750 will host its annual POW/MIA Remembrance Run alongside the University of Pennsylvania’s Navy ROTC unit.

Cadets will complete a 5.1-mile route along the Schuylkill River Trail in honor of the American service members who were prisoners of war or remain missing in action. The run serves as an opportunity to remember their sacrifice, recognize the enduring commitment to bringing every service member home, and ensure their stories are never forgotten.

✈️🦅 PDT SPOTLIGHT WITH C/WILSON 🦅✈️

Cadet Wilson had the opportunity to participate in the Civil Engineering Summer PDT at the Field Engineering and Readiness Laboratory at the U.S. Air Force Academy.

During the program, Cadet Wilson gained firsthand experience with the mission, methods, and techniques used by Air Force Civil Engineers. The hands-on experience provided insight into how Civil Engineers support Air Force operations through construction, infrastructure, and field engineering.

A highlight of the experience was building Hogan Houses in support of the Southwest Indian Foundation. Working alongside other cadets to construct homes provided an opportunity to apply engineering skills in a real-world setting while contributing to a meaningful mission and community.

From hands-on construction to learning about the role of Civil Engineers in the Air Force, the Civil Engineering Summer PDT provided valuable insight into the career field and the many opportunities available through AFROTC.

✈️🦅 PDT SPOTLIGHT WITH C/MESSIAS 🦅✈️

Cadet Messias had the opportunity to participate in two unique professional development experiences this summer: the U.S. Air Force Academy SOAR Program and Gathering of Eagles at Maxwell Air Force Base.

As one of just 25 AFROTC cadets nationwide selected for the USAFA SOAR Program, Cadet Messias trained alongside USAFA cadets and gained firsthand experience in glider operations, flight principles, and airmanship. The program provided an inside look at the 94th Flying Training Squadron and the daily operations of a military aviation training environment, while giving Cadet Messias the opportunity to fly gliders and connect with cadets from across the country.

At Gathering of Eagles, Cadet Messias attended the Air Command and Staff College capstone week, hearing from distinguished aviation and military leaders about their careers, leadership experiences, and lessons learned. Shadowing Air Command and Staff College majors provided additional mentorship and insight into Air Force career paths and leadership at the field-grade officer level. The week also included the opportunity to learn from eight legendary figures in aviation history, including Eileen Collins, John Peters, and Joe Peterburs.

From flying gliders to learning from aviation pioneers and current Air Force leaders, these experiences provided valuable insight into military aviation, leadership, and the many opportunities available through AFROTC.

🩺✈️ PDT SPOTLIGHT WITH C/DANON✈️🩺

Cadet Danon spent a week at Travis Air Force Base with the 60th Medical Group and David Grant Medical Center, gaining an immersive look into military medicine and the Air Force Nurse Corps. The experience included clinical shadowing in the operating room, emergency department, intensive care unit, and orthopedics, as well as hands-on exposure to aeromedical evacuation (AE) operations. Cadet Danon toured AE aircraft and equipment, learned about the capabilities and challenges of providing critical care during patient transport, and gained insight into how medical teams stabilize, monitor, and care for patients throughout evacuation missions.

The week also included wartime patient care and mass-casualty simulations, along with professional development and discussions with senior Nurse Corps leadership. This experience provided valuable insight into the unique role of Air Force nurses in both clinical and operational environments and the critical role they play in delivering care wherever the mission takes them.
