Join the Philly Tree Coalition for a Tree-mendous day at Philadelphia Zoo!

Come celebrate community and our tree canopy, while enjoying a family-friendly day of discovery, creativity, and fun. There will be hands-on activities including tree-themed crafts and games, mini greenhouse creation, seed bomb crafts, and educational experiences designed to teach both children and adults about the importance of trees and environmental stewardship. 📣 Did you know? Philadelphia residents can get a discount on flood insurance!

Residents can get a 15% discount on new or renewed National Flood Insurance Program policies written on or after April 1, 2026. This makes it more affordable and accessible for homeowners, renters and businesses to stay protected from financial losses due to flooding.

Philadelphia secured the discount by earning a spot in FEMA's Community Rating System (CRS), a federal program that rewards communities for taking actions to reduce flood risks. Philadelphia is the 4th largest city in the U.S. to join CRS.

Starting April 2026, Philadelphia residents get a 15% discount on flood insurance policies through the National Flood Insurance Program.

The Water Shed’s EcoFEST Block Party is back!

All are invited to the Water Shed's EcoFEST Block Party on Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. along the 5300 block of Wayne Avenue in Germantown.
