On November 6, 2025, the British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia, in partnership with Saint Joseph's University, the Royal Air Force, and The British and Commonwealth Remembrance Project, hosted a beautiful and moving ceremony commemorating the 85th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain. The event brought together representatives from the United Kingdom and the United States, academic and military communities, and local business leaders in a shared act of remembrance and unity.

Yesterday, British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia staff had the unique opportunity to tour Johnson Matthey's Devon facility, led by Regional Operations Director - Clean Air, and BABCPHL President, Zac Taormina in Wayne, Pennsylvania.

Johnson Matthey, founded in 1817, is a British multinational company with their US Headquarters in the Philadelphia region, specializing in chemical manufacturing and sustainable technologies. The Devon site focuses on manufacturing advanced emission-control catalysts that reduce harmful pollutants from vehicles and industrial sources. As a leader in clean air technology, the facility drives the industry’s technological advances in sustainable manufacturing and environmental innovation. It was fascinating to see the local work that reaches globally—from Philadelphia to the UK and beyond.

On Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the British American Business Council of Greater Philadelphia (BABCPHL) presented a sold-out panel discussion on tariffs and trade, hosted by Duane Morris LLP. Leaders from the public and private sectors convened to provide timely insights into the shifting global trade landscape and the legal and strategic implications for businesses. The discussion focused on how recent and historic trade policies—particularly those enacted during the Trump administration—continue to shape cross-border business, including relations with the UK and other key partners. The panel also explored the legal dimensions of tariffs imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) and the evolving challenges surrounding their implementation.
