• Hotel Room Isolation: Ledger locked himself in a London hotel room for about six weeks to develop the character's psychology, posture, voice, and laugh.
• The Joker Diary: He kept a handwritten journal filled with nightmarish images, comic panels, and things the Joker would find funny (such as brain-damaged geniuses and landmines).

Some are believed dead; others remain missing. The exact status of individual cases is still being investigated

On September 30, 2026 at 10am, Christa Pike will be the first woman in Tennessee to be executed in 200 years. In 1995 when Pike was 18, she killed 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer because believed Slemmer was trying to get involved with her boyfriend, Tadaryl Shipp.

Pike, Shipp, and Shadolla Peterson, another Job Corps student, left the facility with Slemmer. They took her to a secluded wooded area where Slemmer was beaten and stabbed, and a pentagram was carved into her chest. Pike also removed a piece of Slemmer’s skull and kept it as a souvenir.

Christa Pike’s attorneys noted extensive childhood sexual abuse, neglect, and trauma, as well as later diagnoses of PTSD and bipolar disorder. Her boyfriend was sentenced to life without her and her friend cooperated with authorities and got probation.

An investigation into Eugene Horsch’s Philadelphia home after a June 19, 2026 traffic stop revealed videos showing missing women Maribel Fresses and Gabriella Amarando alive, and then appearing to be deceased.

Other missing women linked to the home include Blair Tonzelli, whose fake ID was found during the traffic stop along with two loaded illegal fi****ms, a cache of weapons, drugs and a counterfeit DEA badge featuring Horsch's photograph. Amy McHale, Horsch's late father's ex-wife, who vanished in 2016 was also last seen at Horsch’s home.

Inside the home, police found:

•Over 600,000 images and 70,000 videos

•A 55-gallon chemical drum directly connected to the water lines

•20 containers filled with unknown chemicals

•A written letter addressed to serial killer Ted Bundy

•Five urns containing cremated human remains.

•A massive ma*****na grow operation and other narcotics.

•A counterfeit FBI badge bearing Horsch’s photograph.

•Multiple illegal guns and over 120 pieces of ballistic evidence.

Horsch has not been charged with murder or officially labeled a serial killer, but the investigation remains active.
