Today our thoughts are with the family of Shane Seiber, who was honored and laid to rest today. After surviving two tours in Iraq, Shane came back to Philadelphia to become a Philly Police Officer, where he was killed in action.

May he rest in peace.

Mayor Cherelle L. Parker announced a new annual city internship that will be created in Seiber’s name, and will be shaped by the fallen officer's family.

Turning 65 soon? Make sure to review your Medicare options to avoid penalties down the road.

Turning 65? Your VA health care doesn't stop — and it can work alongside Medicare and TRICARE For Life (TFL) to give you more complete coverage. There's no enrollment fee for VA care, and VA never bills Medicare or TFL for the care you get here.

Keep in mind: your Medicare enrollment window is only 7 months — three before your birthday month, three after. Missing it can mean a lifelong Part B penalty. Confirm your VA health care benefits today by logging into your VA.gov account or calling 1-877-222-8387.
