Starr Garden Playground

Starr Garden Playground Official City page Starr garden was the very first public recreation facility in the city of Philadelphia, and opened in 1911.

It takes up the entire block of 600 Lombard St. in the historic Society Hill section of Philadelphia. It includes a full size sport field, a baseball field, a "spray-ground" and two basketball courts. There's also the locally famous recreation center with an arts and crafts room with a kiln, gorgeous mural work, sculptures, and a large picnic area complete with benches and tables. Seasonally the s

prinkler runs Mon.-Fri. 11-7, Sat. & Sun.: 12-5. However, schedule varies due to weather and available staff. Summer Camp and After School 2022-2023 Registrations are closed. We are no longer accepting applications. Chloe Harris-Director
