Did you know your local Area Agency on Aging does more than meals and transportation?

Pennsylvania's Area Agencies on Aging are the local agencies responsible for receiving and investigating reports of suspected abuse, neglect, exploitation or abandonment involving older adults. It's a core responsibility carried out under state requirements, and it's one many people don't realize AAAs provide.

When a concern is reported, trained staff assess the older adult's safety, respect their rights, and help connect them with the protections and support they may need, whether that's care management, home-delivered meals, in-home support, benefits counseling or community resources.

Our goal is simple: help connect older adults with the right resources before challenges become crises.

If you're concerned about an older adult's safety or wellbeing, it's okay to make a report and let trained staff assess the situation.
