Thank you to the South Philly Review for your coverage this week of new affordable housing coming to Grays Ferry.

Work will soon begin on the first leg of a project to build 1,000 new affordable energy-efficient homes across the city. The 3000 block of Wharton Street in Grays Ferry in South Philadelphia was the site of a gathering on Dec. 12 as City Council leaders, housing officials and advocates broke ground....

I was joined by the leadership of the Marian Anderson Historical Residence and Museum today to present a check for $250,000 to help the non-profit with operating expenses and to complete renovations to the facility. The goal is to reopen the Museum by April`2023.

The event will be held in the Mayor's Reception Hall (Room 202), Philadelphia City Hall starting at 1 p.m.

REMINDER: Our annual youth Winter Coat Giveaway will happen TODAY (Tuesday, December 13) from 4-7 p.m. at the Wilson Park Boys and Girls Club, 2500 Jackson Street. The event is first come, first served, and while supplies last. Guardians must bring their children in order to receive a coat.

The annual youth Winter Coat Giveaway is sponsored by T-Town Entertainment, Operation Warm, The Wilson Park Resident Council and Independence Blue Cross (IBX). IBX is donating hats and gloves for this year's event. Thank you to all of our sponsors.
