Happy birthday Horatio!

Breaking News: Horatio is now officially old enough to vote! 🗳️🐾Eighteen years of wisdom, whiskers, and wonderful memories. Today, we celebrate Horatio’s 18th Birthday!

Horatio has been the official face of our Caturday posts for years. He’s seen us through countless book and movie releases, celebrity birthdays, and social media trends. Today, Horatio is officially retiring to focus on his full-time hobbies: lounging and being pampered. We’re “fur”ever grateful for the joy he’s brought to our community and beyond.

We’re taking a pause on Caturday for now while we plan next steps for a regular fun Saturday post. Whether our future weekly updates feature a new four-legged resident or shift toward other library fun, we remain dedicated to Horatio’s mission of championing the importance of public libraries and celebrating diversity in arts and entertainment. We’ll always hold a space for the wonder and discovery that Horatio helped us share with you.

Note: Horatio will still be overseeing operations from the comfort of his favorite home recliner with significantly less paperwork. His retirement package includes full dental coverage (mostly for crunching treats) and a lifetime subscription to The Daily Birdwatcher.
