South Philly will be hosting a very important event next week, The funeral of a great man who paid the ultimate sacrifice. There will be visitors from all across the country coming into the area, so please let’s show them why we are the best.

Hospitality and patience for the men and women in uniform and out of uniform. From parking to congested streets, please remember that the family gets to choose this mans final arrangements and they chose SOUTH PHILLY. If you’re in the area and have a chance to see the procession or line the streets to honor him. Even something as simple as a red outdoor light or a window decoration in honor of the fire department would go a long way. Thanks in advance and feel free to pass it around to all SOUTH PHILLY

A very heavy loss for the whole city fire department, jack was a true historian and large part of the Philadelphia fire museum who loved all things PFD, not to mention a south Philly native and a very great guy. Please say a prayer for him and his family.

Dwelling fire with possible people trapped in the basement .

Engine 53 arrived on location with heavy fire on the first floor and placed 2 & 2 in service , shortly after had exposure problems and filled the box!
