Guppies Childcare Center PERMANENTLY CLOSED was in business from 2002 to 2020 providing "family-like" care for children Call around, check DPW's site for violations (we have none).

I started this journey in August of 2001, a single Mom, with a 2 year old. I bought a building, spent a year renovating and we opened our doors as Guppies Childcare Center in December 2002. We spent 18 years serving the community as an extension of their families caring for so many kids that became our family. I got to spend precious time with both of my girls. I’ve had the honor of having phenomenal women like Sally and Narcy run the place while I went back to work. We had lots of ups and downs, we were surviving Covid but we could not survive the roof. Today I sold the building and closed a chapter in the book of my life. My heart is heavy but filled with hope for the future. Thank you to everyone for your love and support over the last 20 years.

It is with the saddest heart that I want to let everyone know that Guppies is closing for good. Thank you everyone for your support over the past year.
We will be having a sidewalk/yard sale on Saturday 9/18/21 8am - 2pm Entire contents to be sold. Pictures will be added on Friday.

I truly wish I could see into the future to know when we will be able to reopen. Unfortunately we are not on the same page with the insurance company as far as what needs to be repaired. So we are at a complete standstill. This is heartbreaking and extremely frustrating. We appreciate your continuing support and patience but it looks as though it may be several more weeks before we will reopen.
On a slightly different note. The 2020 tax letters are done and can be sent via email or the post office. Please let us know if you want email delivery by leaving your email address through messenger or in the comments below. Otherwise they will be mailed to your home address on the emergency contact form.

As yet another week is almost over and I wanted to update everyone that most likely we will be closed through the end of January. There have been some insurance related delays that are out of our control but know that we are working hard to be ready once those hurdles have been cleared. Thank you for your patience.

Based on the Philadelphia School District’s closing of the school buildings (since the kids are not actually in school) we will be CLOSED tomorrow Thursday December 17th. Everyone stay safe and we will see you weather permitting on Friday!
