History: FFP has long served as a community leader in identifying and addressing the needs of impoverished, at-risk persons and families. Homelessness and housing insecurity can have negative implications for children's education. School, and specifically their teachers, act as an anchor during a time of instability and trauma. At Families Forward the children in our emergency shelter attend 25 different schools, and we are so grateful for all of the teachers that impact our students every day!

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month! Families Forward Philadelphia was founded in 1915 as Travelers Aid Society of Philadelphia to provide information, advice, guidance, protection, and shelter to travelers. This legacy continues today with our volunteer run kiosk at 30th Street Station! The Information and Passenger Assistance Kiosk is designed to aid travelers, visitors and employees at the train station and in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.

Our kiosk recently got a makeover thanks to a generous donation from one of our long-standing volunteers! Our new signs make it clear who we are and how we can help. We are so grateful to our committed volunteers for all that they do, during Volunteer Appreciation Month, and the whole year through.

March isn't over yet!

March is Social Work Month, and we want to highlight members of our FFP community who hold social work degrees and work every day to improve the lives of the families we serve.

We are missing two of our amazing case managers in this picture, Shirley and Sharai, but their work never goes unnoticed.
