It’s the day before May 1, International Workers Day and we still have time to talk to our coworkers, classmates and community members about joining us for a day of “No Work, No School, No Shopping”! Join us at the protest at City Hall at 4pm tomorrow alongside unions, workers, and organizations across the city.
We can remember that on January 23rd Minneapolis and Saint Paul rose up against Trump and ICE waging the first general strike in the US in 80 years. That stopped ICE from invading cities and temporarily put Trump on the back foot.
That is the power of the working class and if we can organize that power we will be unstoppable. May Day will be a nationwide movement with educators in particular taking a strong leading role in North Carolina, Chicago and Madison. This is just one step in the journey to reclaim not just our country but the whole world to be run by the people who actually make things happen, the workers!
