It was nice to see that covered the details of a proud day for Philadelphia. A day that we celebrated the 230th Anniversary of Ona Judge’s courageous escape to freedom.

As the sponsor of the legislation establishing Ona Judge Day in the City of Philadelphia, I believe it is important that we continue to recognize and uplift the stories of those whose courage helped shape our nation. Ona Judge’s decision to seek freedom, despite tremendous personal risk, remains one of the most powerful acts of resistance in American history.

Her story reminds us that the pursuit of freedom, justice, and human dignity has always depended on ordinary people making extraordinary choices.

I am grateful to the advocates, historians, descendants, community leaders, and residents who joined us to honor Ona Judge’s legacy and ensure that future generations know her name and understand her contribution to our shared history.

Philadelphia has a responsibility to tell the full story of our past, and today we took another step toward doing just that.

So excited to announce a major investment to one of Philadelphia’s most historic and heavily traveled corridors.

I was proud to join for the presentation of a $2 million grant dedicated to safety improvements along Lincoln Drive between Wayne Avenue and Kelly Drive.

This collaboration between and myself represents what can happen when city and state leaders come together around the shared goal of improving safety, infrastructure, and quality of life for Philadelphia residents.

Lincoln Drive is a critical corridor connecting neighborhoods throughout Philadelphia, and these improvements will help create safer conditions for drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and families who travel through the area every day.

So excited for this summer. The goal of Summer With Cindy is to create memorable moments for families and friends throughout this city. The fact is that every one cannot afford the opportunity to spend their summers on the shore, and or abroad on beaches within another country. Our goal is to create safe, fun, and loving environments right here inside of our public parks.
Get ready, for this summer will be unlike any summer before.

Today we said goodbye to the one and only Tony Faulk, One of a kind, friend, father, political leader, and overall just a great human being! He will truly be missed by his family and friends, and the community in which he served. It’s only fitting that it was a packed house, and it was great to see Former Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell, future Congressman Sharif Street, Speaker of the House Joanna McClinton, 51st Ward Leader Greg Benjamin, Purple Blackwell, and so many others in attendance. Gone on to glory, but never forgotten.
