The Progress Party is an advocacy group organized to promote the well-being of America’s middle class. We understand the difference between Socialism, which we support, and Communism, which we unequivocally oppose. We are very aware that movement conservative continues to shift toward the radical right, allowing the growth of political extremist groups like the Tea Party. When Grover Norquist famo
usly claims that he wants to shrink the size of government so it can be drowned in a bathtub, we believe what he is really saying that he wants to drown the middle class in a bathtub. We won’t sit by idly while he tries to do that. The time for movement progressive has arrived. We believe the best way to protect the middle class in our current political environment is to support and promote liberal and progressive political causes and candidates. To that goal, we want to help politicians who believe in the following philosophies:
· Increasing income inequality in America is the basis of the conservative economic platform.
· Income inequality caused not only the Great Depression but the current recession.
· Supply-side economics is a proven failure to a vast majority of Americans and that creating robust middle class is the only way to bring America back to the greatness it enjoyed in the 40s, 50s and 60s.
· Demand-side economics is the only economic model that will bring us out of our current economic dilemma.
· The policies of The New Deal are worthy and bolster the middle class, and understand that the Republican Party's main goal is to dismantle it and weaken the middle class.
· Unions, both public and private, are the backbone of a prosperous American, and that right wing rhetoric to the contrary is designed to foster class warfare within the middle class.
