Do you work in Philadelphia’s STEM industry? Are you a socialist, or just someone who thinks the system isn’t working for us? Join us September 26th starting at 2 PM at the Gather Food Hall, for an open-ended discussion on the relationship between our politics and our work. We will review the political landscape, the threats on federal grants, and the possibilities to organize. What is necessary for us to fight back and demand more, and how do we get there?

This event is organized by the Labor Committee of the Philadelphia Democratic Socialists of America, but any curious STEM workers are welcome to attend!

It’s almost time for our next chapterwide general meeting—and this is shaping up to be a big one!

With the 2027 municipal elections around the corner, we’re gearing up for a busy cycle of building working class power by electing socialists up and down the ballot. At this meeting, we may consider up to five candidates for endorsement. We’ll also discuss various business resolutions directing our organizing.

GMs are open to everyone! They’re a great place to experience democratic decision-making and meet new and longtime organizers and DSA members. We’ll also have a social nearby after the meeting.

Billionaires can outspend us, but they can’t buy our movement.

A PayPal co-founder is reportedly putting $40 million toward efforts to defeat DSA-backed candidates. That kind of money exposes what’s at stake: billionaires are threatened by working people organizing, building power, and electing leaders who answer to our communities—not corporate interests.

They can flood the airwaves. They can’t knock every door, talk to every neighbor, or stop working people from showing up.

Our power is in our people. Our votes are ours. And our movement isn’t for sale.

Across the country, DSA chapters are discussing what role socialists should play in the 2028 presidential election, including whether DSA should endorse a campaign.

Here in Philadelphia, presidential elections put our city at the center of national politics—and whatever happens in 2028, Philly will be an important battleground.

We don’t have a candidate in front of us, and we’re not trying to answer every question today. This is the beginning of a longer conversation that will evolve as candidates emerge and the political landscape changes.
