The Philadelphia Police and Fire Pipes and Drums participated in LODD services for Officer Kristen Yeager in neighboring Berks County, PA. We used our newest training tool at practice last night. Its called a manometer and it measures pressure. Playing the bagpipe takes coordination, and requires steady blowing. It shows exactly where you may need improvement. Our piper Dave Tizol was the first to give it a try.

Today for Memorial Day we marched in the Bridesburg parade to honor the fallen. Thankfully the rain held off. Here is a short video taken of the band by YouTuber Jon McCann

We were the host band so we started off the parade to the memorial. In this reel we're marching to our America the Beautiful set. Camden County Emerald Society Pipes and Drums joined our ranks this day.

The band participated in a week's worth of daily playing with parades, solos, and lots of logistics. During a short break in service our members take a few moments to relax. Whether its enjoying a cigar, or splurging on German beer and schnitzel we do it together. As pics come in we'll share more.

On our second night of services our bagpiper and retired FD John Nicklous performed at the stroke of midnight. He honored the fallen at the National Police Memorial playing a slow air in their memory.

On our final night in Washington DC the midnight piper was performed by Pipe Sgt Adam Wojnicki. At the exact stroke of midnight, a piper plays a solemn tune in rememberance of the fallen.
