It is one of the earliest gardens protected by the Neighborhood Gardens Trust (formerly known as Neighborhood Gardens Association).

W**d Role Call: For those who may not be familiar with these plants. They are all, for all intents and purposes....w**ds and I encourage you to pull them where ever they happen to be in the garden. Also...almost any plant that grows in a pathway is considered a w**d and should be pulled.

Remember: it is each gardener's responsibility to keep their garden and the pathway, and the fencelines W**D FREE.

The Penn State Extension has many wonderful programs, including an event this Sunday at the Horticulture Center in Fairmount Park. The are having a plant sale AND they will be doing free soil testing. Some of you expressed interest in getting the soil in your plots tested. This site tells you how to prep the samples and then you can go to this event and get it tested for FREE!

Work day this Sunday! We will be clearing out the new compost area, w**ding, dividing perennials and cleaning the shed. Wheee!!! Meet around 10am.

First garden meeting of the season-this Thursday, April 13th at 6:30pm in the garden. Signing paperwork, paying dues and looking at the calendar.

Gardeners, now is the time to confirm your plots for this year. Please confirm your spaces ASAP! Also, if you would like to move to a larger or smaller space, please let me know-new plots are assigned on a first come, first serve basis. The deadline for clearing and planting your plots is May 1st! Any garden left untouched by May 1st will automatically be given to the next person on the waitlist.
