Jen Leary, Red Paw’s former founder is our host for Watch Party PHL. Please come say hi today at Stir Lounge.

If you want to come and are feeling hesitant because you don’t have any friends who watch sports or if you just can’t find anyone who will come with you, please come anyway. These watch parties are meant to be for everyone, a community of women’s sports fans who will be your friends who watch women’s sports. See you at 2:30!

Now that things have settled down a bit, we wanted to update everyone on where we are at with transitioning services to the Philadelphia Fire Department Community Action Teams (CATs). Our last response was on November 1st (pic below of cat & turtle assisted on-scene). As of November 2nd all four CATs have been trained on Red Paw best practices for assisting residents with pets and searching for pets in dwellings. And, responders have also been working with the CATs on-scene to provide hands on tips.

Last week we had a call with the PFD, Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management ACCT Philly & L&I to ensure protocols are put in place for residents with pets on larger incidents including apartment building fires, home explosions and building collapse. We are hopeful that the 67% of residents with pets in this city will continue to be provided the services they need on-scene. We will continue to work with the above agencies to make sure. It’s also up to residents to advocate for their pets & the media to report on pets as well.

Going forward Red Paw will be changing to a Foundation and we will continue to provide emergency services like pet hotel fees, food & supplies, emergency veterinary care deposits and other remote services.

Stay tuned for NEW website fundraising swag! In the meantime, our Ugly Sweater fundraiser is now LIVE!
