Laurel Hill Mansion Philadelphia Park House Laurel Hill Mansion, built in 1767 is open to the public for tours & events to 4:00 p.m. with guided tours available.

Historic Laurel Hill Mansion is nestled along the scenic Schuylkill River in Fairmount Park of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It has a prominent location on a high bluff overlooking the river. One of the most visible houses that ring the river, the view of the river from the back porch is not to be missed and should be included in any tour of Philadelphia. The original house built by Rebecca Rawle in

1764 consisted of a two-story Georgian brick structure with a symmetrically placed entry and a gallery of windows on the first and second floors. In the late 18th/early 19th century, a small single story wing was added to the south-side of the home. The unique two-story octagonal wing was added to the north side soon thereafter. The house is open to the public from mid-April to mid-December Thursday โ€“ Sunday from 10:00 a.m. It is recommended that you call in advance (215) 235-1776. There are also special events though out the year including a symposium during Womenโ€™s history month, a Spring Tea that raises funds for the maintenance of the house, a well-regarded Summer Series of Chamber Music Concerts that take place in the octagonal music room among others. Few historic houses embody the conflicts and contradictions of the American Revolution like Laurel Hill Mansion. Voices of Laurel Hill Mansion, an original work that explores the rich cultural and historical legacy of this landmark site. Voices of LHM premieres on June 13th at Laurel Hill Mansion with a matinee 3:00p.m. and an evening 7:00p.m. performance. A reception follows each performance.

On June 6th, rain date June 7th, Red, White, & Blooms, 250th Celebration Garden Party will take place at Laurel Hill Mansion. Signature Cocktails and Mocktails recipes have been created and will be mixed up for us by a professional bartender, delicious seasonal bites are being made and served by the garden party caterer, Maria Damore & the Hot Club of Reading will be playing Gypsy Jazz and Jazz from 1920's Paris. There will of course be beautiful flower arrangements adorning tabletops, the house and garden committees have enhanced Laurel Hill Mansionโ€™s already picturesque qualities and there is the river view all ensuring the perfect setting to experience a June Garden Party in.

urel Hill Mansion and your last chance to experience the amazing Holiday decorations celebrating Nature in the Park created by the Militia Hill Questers. We will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 pm with costumed volunteers from Women for Greater Philadelphia the stewards of Laurel Hill Mansion serving spiced earl grey tea to warm you up. Our Holiday Gift Shoppe will also be open.
