We were very happy to welcome staff, board members and volunteers from the Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines, to the place where this wonderful refuge for retired and abused horses began, Burholme Park and Ryerss Mansion. The Ryerss family loved animals and Anne Waln Ryerss, the second wife of Joseph Ryerss, is credited with initiating and providing the funding to create this very special place for older horses, in 1888. There are about 75 residents at the farm in Pottstown PA. You can visit the farm and the horses. Check out their website https://www.ryerssfarm.org

Thanks Ryerss Farm friends for coming to visit Ryerss Museum and Library today. Come see us again soon.

Something special is starting Saturday, September 19. In addition to resuming our Storytime for children and their grown-ups, we’ll also have the first meeting of a Crafting Club for Tweens. Both programs will begin at 10:30 am in the Library. If you know any tween-agers, 11-15+, please pass the word. Hoping to fill our Library with even more activity and fun for families.
