It is with deep sadness that we mourn the passing of Bob Woodson, a true visionary, champion for underserved communities, and a valued friend and supporter of People for People, Inc.

Bob Woodson was a man of courage, conviction, wisdom, and compassion who believed deeply in the dignity, strength, and potential of every person, especially those too often overlooked.

His life’s work challenged us to serve with compassion, lead with courage, and believe that lasting transformation begins within communities themselves. His legacy of faith, responsibility, empowerment, and hope will continue to inspire generations to come.

On behalf of Rev. Robert J. McFadden, CEO, and the entire People for People family, we extend our heartfelt prayers to his family, friends, colleagues, and all whose lives were touched by his extraordinary impact.

This Women’s History Month, we celebrate the remarkable legacy of Mrs. Emma C. Chappell, a visionary leader, community advocate, and history-maker whose impact continues to inspire generations.

Mrs. Chappell made history in 1992 as the founder and CEO of United Bank of Philadelphia, the first African American-owned commercial bank in the city. At a time when access to financial resources was limited for many in our communities, she boldly created opportunities for economic empowerment, ownership, and generational wealth.

Her work was more than banking, it was about breaking barriers, building trust, and investing in people. Through her leadership, countless individuals, families, and businesses were given the tools to thrive.
