We are exited to see SB507 make way to the Governor’s desk.

This legislation is a critical step toward expanding access to high-quality, community-centered maternal healthcare across Pennsylvania by modernizing outdated regulations and strengthening pathways for certified midwives to serve families where they are needed most.

For the Pennsylvania Black Maternal Health Caucus, this is what progress looks like: advancing policies that widen access, improve outcomes, and move us closer to a maternal health system that truly works for Black women and birthing people.

We look forward to seeing this bill signed into law.

Fighting for Justice, filled with Joy is how we’re leaving at the PA Capitol💜🩷✨

Over the last two days we gathered with nearly 200 stakeholders from across the Commonwealth including our partners and special guests for two days of action.

Members of the showed up, asked questions and doubled down on their commitment to Black mothers and families. It was determined that is never too ambitious to save a life in Pennsylvania.

Thank you to everyone who showed up — advocate, legislator, provider, birthworker, inquiring minds. Thank you to everyone who shared their story. Thank you to everyone who knocked doors and helped us spread the word…we are on a mission and we won’t let up until that mission is complete.
