Keeping Philadelphia’s infrastructure running takes innovative engineering every day. PWD manages thousands of miles of water mains and sewers, hundreds of stormwater systems, 34 pumping stations, and six treatment plants.

From designing new facilities to upgrading aging assets, PWD engineers and project teams work on complex, meaningful projects that directly impact the city. Trainee roles give early-career professionals hands on experience in planning, construction, operations, and environmental compliance.

If you’re pursuing civil engineering, environmental engineering, architecture, or construction-related fields, PWD offers a strong start and real pathways for growth.
