I stopped by the Buckingham Township Board of Supervisors monthly meeting on Wednesday with Rep. Tim Brennan to present state citations and a grant.

The citations recognized the dedicated members of the Township's 325th Anniversary Committee and the Buckingham Township Historic Commission. I'd like to thank all involved for their work to preserve, protect, and promote Buckingham Township's historic resources and stories.

We also delivered a check for $2,435,000 for a PFAS removal in the Furlong water system. Clean water is a right under the Pennsylvania constitution, and I am always happy to support infrastructure grants to make sure everyone has access to clean water.

I was proud to join Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn and Rep. Tim Brennan to celebrate the completion of the Lumberville Aqueduct and High Falls Sub Canal Culvert projects at Delaware Canal State Park last Friday.

After the devastating damage caused by Tropical Storm Ida, these investments are restoring critical connections along the canal towpath, strengthening climate resiliency, and ensuring future generations can continue to enjoy one of Bucks County’s most treasured historic and recreational resources.

The Delaware Canal is a unique part of our region’s history and identity, and I’m grateful to everyone who worked on these important projects.

Thank you to PA Banking and Securities, the Doylestown Township Police, the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, the Bucks County District Attorney's Office, and the Bucks County Area Agency on Aging for participating in my SCAM Jam at the Central Bucks Senior Center 700 Shady Retreat Rd with Rep. Tim Brennan last week. This was a great event for residents to learn about common scams in our area and get tips on how to protect themselves from identity theft. And, as always, fraud bingo was a hit!

Congratulations, I'm glad I could support this project and all of the wonderful work the Michener Art Museum does in our area to promote the arts!

We're unveiling a new commission by Philadelphia's Roberto Lugo at Michener Art Museum next week! "Permanence: We Were Here" is a site-specific work made possible through support from Pennsylvania state Sen. Steve Santarsiero. It's a monumental ceramic vessel that tells the story of our site history as the Bucks County Jail.

See this new artwork in person starting Friday, June 5! Read more from The Philadelphia Inquirer here: https://www.inquirer.com/arts/michener-art-museum-prison-history-roberto-lugo-20260207.html.

History dies only when we forget.

I was honored to help continue the legacy of John Janney in Newtown. During WWII, John Janney spent countless hours writing letters to soldiers from Newtown who were serving abroad. He was a lifeline to soldiers, updating them on local news, mutual friends, family farms and local businesses. In return, they told him about their homesickness and fear, as well as their love and care for the people they were fighting for back home. John served as a connection from Newtown to its soldiers and for soldiers to their hometown.

At the ceremony last week, I read a letter written by General George Patton's granddaughter Helen who channeled her grandfather's voice to honor John and the impact he had on our troops. In a world where we're increasingly disconnected from each other and real life, true connection matters and John served as a critical lifeline for our local heroes who served in WWII. Thank you to Nancy Webster and Matt Arlen for their work in preserving John Janney's legacy. I'm proud to help honor his memory and keep his story alive.

Today, at 3pm this Memorial Day, is our national minute of silence to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy today, and we owe them a debt we can never fully repay.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the parade this morning in Doylestown to remember and honor our fallen heroes. It was great to see Bucks County Government Commissioner Bob Harvie, Rep. Tim Brennan, Bucks County District Attorney's Office Joe Khan and Bucks County Sheriff's Office Danny Ceisler. Please join us today in remembering our brave service members who made the ultimate sacrifice.
