I serve as the minority chair on the State Government Committee in the PA Senate, where we regulate voting rights and processes in our state. I take that responsibility incredibly seriously, and I will continue to fight back against laws that would make it harder for Pennsylvanians to vote. Fraudulent claims of widespread voter fraud have long been a smokescreen used by those who want to prevent everyday Americans from making their voices heard at the ballot box. We must call out these fictions and make it easier for all citizens to exercise their right to vote in our democracy.

Congratulations to all of the Sandy Run Girl Scouts 2026 Gold and Silver Awardees! I was proud to provide a Senate citation for Akshara Anirudh from Troop 21574 who earned her Gold Award, the Girl Scout's highest and most prestigious achievement. Akshara earned her Girl Scout Gold Award by creating The Meadow Boardwalk at the 5 Mile Woods Preserve in Yardley, PA. She led the construction of a 48-foot, 4-foot-wide handicap-accessible boardwalk extension to close a gap in the existing trail system. She did this to improve safe, year-round access to the preserve while protecting the surrounding environment by reducing soil disturbance and preventing further erosion.

Please join me in congratulating Akshara on this incredible achievement!

Congratulations to the Borough of Doylestown on the opening of their new Pump Track! A pump track is a closed loop of small rollers and berms that riders use to maintain momentum instead of pedaling. Riding it builds bike-handling skills and is excellent exercise for riders of all ages. The track surface is paved, so it will be ridable year-round. This will be a fabulous recreational resource for everyone in the area, and if you want to check it out it's now open in Chapman Park!

So many people (and well-dressed dogs) came out to Buttonwood Park in Yardley last night for a community pride celebration, including Yardley Borough Police Department Chief William J. Golden III. Thank you to Yardley Borough, The Rainbow Room, and Experience Yardley for sponsoring such a great event!

Happy Pride Month! 🏳️‍🌈 The pride flag is flying in Doylestown Borough along with a new Pennsylvania state flag dropped off by my office. I hope everyone has a wonderful month coming together in community. There will be many more events occurring throughout the month in Bucks County to celebrate.

It is important to acknowledge that we have much farther to go as a state to support the LGBT+ community. Every legislative session since 2021, I've introduced The Fairness Act (SB150), this session with Senator Nikil Saval. The Pennsylvania Human Relations Act currently does not prevent discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity or expression. While in many cases federal civil rights laws protect LGBT+ individuals from discrimination there are many significant gaps that would need to be covered by a state law. I urge my Republican colleagues in the Senate to do the right thing and support The Fairness Act.

No Pennsylvanian should be fired from a job, denied housing, or excluded from public spaces because of who they are.

Last Saturday, I attended the BAPS Charities Walkathon in Falls Township Community Park with Rep. Jim Prokopiak, Rep. Tina Davis, Bucks County Government Commissioner Bob Harvie, Bucks County District Attorney's Office Joe Khan, and Sheriff Danny Ceisler.

BAPS Charities is an international charity and service organization that started decades ago with grassroots volunteers in South Asia and has now spread to work in eight countries around the world. On Saturday, we walked to raise money for the Middletown Community Foundation. Thank you to everyone who attended and volunteered to serve others in their community!

Congratulations to Doylestown Township on the opening of the New Britain Road Trail! Supervisors Dan Wood and Judy Dixon, Doylestown Township Manager Stephanie Mason, Chair of the Doylestown Community Bike/Hike Committee Lynn Goldman, staff from Rep. Tim Brennan's office, and many more were on site to help cut the ribbon.

I helped secure a $686,000 grant for this project from DCED in 2021. It's always wonderful to see a long-term project completed! I'm proud to support projects like this that better connect our communities and make it easier for people to get around by walking and biking.
