Brother Rodney Baker was a proud member of Local 696. He was known as a loyal, caring, and dedicated brother who stood firmly in solidarity with his fellow union members. Union strong in every sense, Brother Baker remained faithful and committed throughout the strike, always showing up and standing beside his brothers and sisters.

During difficult times, he made sure fellow line members had water, food, and whatever support they needed. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and offer encouragement in any way possible. Brother Baker truly believed in the union, believed in unity, and believed in the strength and support we provide one another.

Brother Baker, thank you for your service, your dedication, and the legacy you leave behind. Your presence and unwavering support will be missed greatly by your union brothers and sisters.

May you rest peacefully.

Brother Hakeem Jackson faithfully served the City of Philadelphia for 29 years. He began his journey with the Water Department and Local 394, starting with interceptors before advancing to instrumentation. Hakeem was always striving to find a better way to do things. He was easygoing, humorous like no other, and always willing to lend a helping hand whenever he could.

Never one to sit still, Brother Hakeem was constantly thinking about his next move. He was truly one of life’s go-getters, always working to create a better future for himself and his family. His impact will never be forgotten by those whose lives he touched. He carried a fun-loving spirit that brought joy to so many.

Brother Hakeem made a lasting mark on many throughout his years with the City. Presidents and Business Agents from both Local 394 and Local 696 have shared nothing but fond memories and heartfelt words about his remarkable character and dedication.

Brother Hakeem, you will be deeply missed. Your DC 33 family honors and salutes you for your years of service and the legacy you leave behind. It was truly a privilege to work alongside you.

May you now rest peacefully.

The District Council 33 Member Action Team Bowling Party was an absolute blast!

It was great to see so many of our members out on the lanes, enjoying themselves, knocking down pins, sharing good food, and spending time with good people. Nights like this remind us what union family really feels like... connection, laughter, and community.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and made the night unforgettable. We hope to see even more of you next time.
