Friends of Campbell Square The Friends of Campbell Square are dedicated to the preservation of the oldest public square in Port Richmond.

Campbell Square (formerly known as Allegheny Square) is a three-acre passive park built in 1894 in the heart of Port Richmond. This park was originally built using a floral layout with curved walkways resembling flower petals, a design that had been used in Jefferson Square, Franklin Square and other parks in previous years. While these parks have since been redesigned, Campbell Square is the only

remaining park to fully retain its original floral design. Neighbors preferred these wandering walkways that brought visitors throughout different parts of the park. Another great volunteer day complete! You might notice a lot less weeds in the center area! We also picked up litter, weeded the corner flower bed at Almond and Madison and trimmed up the roses who unfortunately have been infected with rosette disease (no worries, it doesn’t hurt humans or wildlife!), planted a random hydrangea that showed up (please don’t do this lol) spread the leftover mulch pile around and gave our baby trees and garden beds a big drink of water!
