Mat Music Month is coming to an end, and it’s been great taking time to reflect on and honor Philly’s incredible music talent 🎶

Thank you to all the artists, musicians, and leaders who continue to share their gifts and shape the city’s vibrant culture. Philly wouldn’t be Philly without you!

Thursday’s rally proved that our students are paying attention and they’re not staying silent. They showed up and made their voices heard.

This plan still has serious holes that will negatively impact our students, and that’s something we cannot ignore. Me and my colleagues are committed to continuing this fight until those gaps are addressed and our young people are truly protected.

🚨 RALLY TODAY at 2PM 🚨

Today’s the day we’re organizing and making our voices heard.

Join me and my colleagues ahead of the school board meeting as we rally outside the School District building. Our students, families, and educators deserve better.

Be there. Speak out. And don’t forget to sign the petition to say NO to this facilities plan.

Say NO to the Philadelphia School District Facilities Plan

05/24/2026

I said it before and I’ll say it again this plan should not be approved while so many families, students, and teachers are left in uncertainty. There are too many unanswered questions and not nearly enough communication with our elected officials.

Alongside my colleagues, we are organizing and making our voices heard.

Join us next Thursday, May 28th, at 2:00 PM ahead of the school board meeting as we rally outside the School District building. We must stand together and demand better for our students.

Make your voice count show up, speak out, and please sign the petition to say NO to this facilities plan.

This school facilities plan is something we have to think about not just as elected officials, but as parents and Philadelphia residents. I’m always encouraging people to stay in Philadelphia because I truly believe there is opportunity here. But when plans like this have the potential to disrupt student learning, stability, comfortability, and academic growth, we have to ask the tough questions.

So many students, parents, and teachers have built relationships, routines, and a sense of community within their schools. It’s unfair to continue asking families to simply “make it work” while their children’s learning environment is being disrupted.

As both a councilman and a parent, I believe our students deserve stability, support, and schools that help them thrive not uncertainty.

While we’ve found ways to counter rising utility costs in the past, the current surge demands a fresh approach. It’s time to go back to the drawing board and work collaboratively with energy companies and fellow elected officials to better manage costs and deliver real relief for our communities.

At Tuesday’s hearing, I asked the tough questions and pushed for transparency on how these companies are operating. More importantly, I began conversations on how we can partner to build a system that works better for our constituents so families can focus on living, not worrying about their next bill.

We’re getting real answers about the rising cost of energy bills and what’s being done at the federal level. Working with State Rep Fiedler to dig into the root causes and ask the tough questions is the only way to bring real relief to the people of Philadelphia.

This is about making sure families get clarity, accountability, and real action on an issue that impacts everyday life across the city

05/11/2026

Tomorrow at 12:00 PM, I will be hosting a hearing on the rising cost of energy. This issue is impacting families and communities across Philadelphia in very real ways from higher monthly bills to added strain on households.

The question we keep hearing is simple: why are costs so high, how did we get here, and what can we actually do to bring them down?

Let me know in the comments what questions you need answered and what specific concerns around energy are effecting you.
