Mayor Morton McMichael was mayor of Philadelphia from 1866 to 1869, & created the Fairmount Park Commission, serving as president of the commission from 1869 to 1879.

Edwin H Fitler what is the 75th mayor of the city of Philadelphia from 1887 to 1891. He was the first mayor to serve a four year term as mayor under the new city charter and the first mayor to occupy the current City Hall at broad and market when he took office while it was still under construction.

Alexander Henry (1823-1883) 69th mayor of Philadelphia Mayor Henry served the city of Philadelphia as mayor during the American Civil War. He greatly improved the Philadelphia Police Department and support a new public transportation system for the city. Henry Avenue in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia is named in his honor.
