From Chesley:
I am humbled and grateful to announce that on Friday, June 16, I received a call from the Office of Governor Josh Shapiro asking me to accept an early appointment to sit as a judge on the Court of Common Pleas is Philadelphia. I happily accepted. The following two weeks have been a whirlwind of activity.
Last Thursday, June 29, I testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee. On Friday, the full senate voted to confirm the appointment. And on Saturday, July 1, I was sworn in as a judge in the backyard of my friend, and now colleague, the Honorable Dan Anders. I was so excited to be sworn in to serve, that I rushed to Dan’s house in my pickle ball clothes! The Honorable Michele Hangley dropped what she was doing to serve as the videographer:).
Thank you to everyone who helped make all of this a reality. Every person who prayed for, voted for, campaigned for, or donated to the campaign deserves credit.
A special congratulations to the Honorable(s) Natasha Taylor-Smith, Samantha J. Williams and Kay Yu who also received early appointments.
I promise to never forget how I got here, and that my purpose is to serve every citizen of this great city.
