Did you know? About 2.5 million children in the U.S. are growing up in kinship families—being raised by grandparents, other relatives, or close family friends. These families keep children safe and loved, yet often go unseen and unsupported.

September is National Kinship Care Month. Hooray! Celebrate the family members and active kin who provide kinship care for children and youth. In Philadelphia alone, more than 17,000 children are estimated to be living with family members. Connectedly's GrandFamily Resource Center programs support caregivers, helping them lead stable, fulfilling lives and serve as vital supports for the children in their care. Exploring Careers in Aging

GenPhilly will host a Careers in Aging Panel on September 30 at Drexel University, bringing together professionals from across the aging sector to share their career journeys and experiences with local college students.

The event is designed to help students learn more about the many career paths available in aging services and encourage a new generation of professionals to consider work in the field. Dr. DiMaria Ghalili of Drexel University will moderate the panel.

Connectedly is community!

Our crew from Interfaith in Germantown volunteered their time last week at Philly food rescue org Sharing Excess.

These incredible Connectedly members sorted produce in the warehouse and made a huge impact for food-insecure people, right here in Philadelphia! Check out the impact report to see exactly how much food they rescued and will go directly to Philly families.
