Celebrate Earth Day with Sea Grant – join the 7th Annual Great Lakes BioBlitz! Document biodiversity across the Great Lakes April 22 – May 23, 2026.

Submit photos, observations, and contribute to conservation data – all while getting outside!

This free event focuses on finding and identifying as many wild, living things as possible in the states and provinces connected to the Great Lakes.

You can live anywhere in Pennsylvania, not just the Erie region, to participate.

Organized and supported by the Sea Grant Center for Great Lakes Literacy and the Great Lakes Sea Grant Network.

Save the Date! June 1 - PA Native Species Day at the Capitol
The event will kick off with a brief press conference followed by plenty of opportunity to interact with folks about native and invasive species. Outreach tables, displays, native seed and tree giveaways and more will be in the East Wing Rotunda and Soldier's Grove. More details about the event coming soon. Organized by the Pennsylvania Governor's Invasive Species Council.

Graduate students interested in ocean, coastal and Great Lakes resources - consider applying for the 2027 Sea Grant Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship! Fellows are placed in executive and legislative offices where they contribute to real-world policy work.

Applications are now open for the 2027 Knauss Fellowship.

The Sea Grant Knauss Fellowship is a paid, one-year opportunity for emerging professionals interested in public service. Fellows work in the Washington, D.C. area, in legislative or executive branch offices that support weather, ocean, coastal and Great Lakes priorities, helping translate science into policy.

Educators - register today for “Dive Even Deeper: Trees, Watersheds, and Streams,” a two-day PA Certified MWEE Ambassador professional development program. May 27-28, 2026, from 9 AM – 3:30 PM at White Clay Creek Preserve in Landenberg, PA.

This hands-on training is designed for K-12 classroom teachers, school administrators, and nonformal educators to learn more about tree species identification, site selection, planting protocols, and stream health assessment. Become a Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences Ambassador while learning about proper tree planting and stream health assessment for watershed protection.
