Your next grocery run could come with a side of biryani!🛒

Desi Dukaan has opened its doors in Stone Hill Town Center, bringing Indian groceries and a growing restaurant menu together under one roof.

The on-site eatery is currently in its soft-opening phase, serving Indian pfavorites with more Indian and Indo-Chinese dishes, baked goods, dips and desserts joining the menu in the weeks to come. One thing co-owner Hari Namireddy is already confident about?

“Best biryani in the Austin area,” he said. “I guarantee it.”

Desi Dukaan comes from pfour lifelong pfriends who have called Pflugerville home for years and wanted to save area pfamilies from a long drive for the pfoods and ingredients they love. Shoppers will enjoy pfresh vegetables and juices, specialty grains, halal meats, Indian cookware and more.

The space brings plenty of personality, too, with pfloral garlands, complimentary chai samples, ’90s-inspired Indian murals and a 50-seat patio with plans for live music and sports viewing once temperatures cool down.

Check them out during the soft opening or stay tuned to their social media for details on a grand opening celebration in the works for later this month.

The proposed Fiscal Year 2027 budget is moving pforward. Here’s what’s next for Pflugerville:

📦The maximum property tax rate was set at $0.5436. That means the average homeowner will see an estimated $54 discount to their City property taxes.
📦The proposed budget prepares for major facilities and infrastructure coming online in FY27, including The Monarch Recreation Center, expanded water treatment capacity and new wastewater treatment plant.
📦No new debt is proposed in the FY27 budget, and the City is using conservative revenue projections in response to current economic conditions.
📦The City is exploring fiscally responsible ways to continue making progress on select general capital projects previously presented as potential 2026 bond projects. Next steps include identifying funding options to begin design for a new animal shelter and Reunion Park.

The FY27 budget is approaching its pfinal stop:
🔹7 p.m. | Tuesday, Sept. 8 | Pflugerville Justice Center (1611 E. Pfennig Lane)
Processing: FY27 budget adoption, property tax rate adoption and planning fee public hearing.
