In continuing efforts to make the electrical system more reliable we have found a broken pole that needs to be changed; City crews have scheduled a planned power outage that will affect service at the following addresses:

Area(s) affected:
Waukazoo Ave: 1026, 1027, 1028, 1030, 1031, 1032, 1033, 1034, 1036, 1115,1120,1123,1201,1203,1205,1206,1219,1220,1223, 1305, 1315, 1317 and 1321

Kieran Court: 1317, 1321, 1323 and 1327

College View Drive: 507, 508, 511, 512, 515, 516, 519, 520, 523 and 528

Myrtle Street: 428, 432, 433, 435, 436, 437 and 440

Jefferson Avenue: 1041

Carelton Street: 424, 431, 436 and 435

Jennings Avenue: 412, 415, 424, 428, 432 and 436

We will make every effort to minimize the length of the outage. Occasionally there are unexpected difficulties that may extend the outage or may cause the work to be cancelled or postponed. If the work is rescheduled, we will let you know the new date and time.

DPW crews will begin fall fire hydrant flushing and maintenance procedures City-wide. Bay Harbor fall fire hydrant flushing and maintenance procedures will continue. Flushing will be accomplished only during daylight hours. Please look for posted signs for hydrant flushing in your area.

Customers might experience discolored water as a result of hydrant-flushing operations. Prior to using hot water, cold water faucets should be opened to allow water to run freely for several minutes until becoming clear.

In preparation for the November 3 General Election, the City of Petoskey Clerk’s Office will begin to mail absentee ballots on or around September 24. If you receive a permanent mail ballot and will not be at your voter registration address in Petoskey on or around September 24 please contact the Clerk’s Office to update your mailing address. Absentee ballots do not get forwarded by USPS.
