🌞 SUMMER READING KICKOFF IS FRIDAY!
It's the start of summer reading, so let's celebrate with a Messtival! Join us in the library's outdoor space on Friday, June 5, from 6-8pm, where we'll be making a mess with chalk, bubbles, paint, and shaving cream, PLUS:

**** 6:00pm - A juggling performance with Clark Lewis
**** 7:00pm - A human "slop" machine! Get three in a row to "pie" Teen Librarian Nisa!
**** Cold and drippy treats for purchase from the Big Tasty Treats ice cream truck

And, most importantly ... be sure to pick up your All-Ages Summer Reading Activity Booklet! It's a fun, low-stakes way to learn about the library, the community, and yourself! See you on Friday!

🎖️We capped off a super fun year of Petoskey Chess Club on Saturday with 17 players participating in our annual championship tournament at the Carnegie Building. Congratulations to yesterday's winners and to all the kids who showed up on Monday afternoons throughout the school year! (And, thank you to the parents who made it possible for their kids to join us for weekly chess games.)

As a reminder, with our year-end tournament now over, Petoskey Chess Club for ages 8-18 will take a break for the summer. This popular youth program will resume again in September with the start of the next school year, meeting every Monday, 3:30pm-5:30pm, whenever school is in session.

(Note: our chess program for adults will continue to meet year-round every Monday from noon to 2:30pm in the lower level classroom.)
