A huge thank you to the Petoskey Lowe's Home Improvement store for providing a large donation of mulch plus volunteer labor. Thanks to these amazing Lowe's volunteers, a large portion of the beds in the upper part of East Park now have a new layer of mulch.

Over the summer Resort Township has collected input regarding the safety of the Resort Pike – Intertown intersection. Thank you to each and every individual who provided input. Below are the final survey results as well as the accident data for the intersection.

Now that we have resident input, the next step is working with the Emmet County Road Commission (ECRC) on determining what can be done to improve safety at the intersection. Resort Township does not control its roads, all decisions are made by the ECRC with input from residents. Now that the ECRC has our survey results showing the intersection is considered dangerous, we are asking the ECRC to conduct a traffic and engineering study so we can determine options for improving safety.

Last Call - Resort Pike Intertown Intersection Survey

Resort Township is looking at the safety of the intersection of Resort Pike and Intertown Roads. If you have not yet submitted your input please do so no later than August 31, 2026. Thank you to those who have already shared their thoughts.

Resort Township is doing a resident survey to get your opinion on the intersection of Resort Pike and Intertown Roads. Your answers will be helpful in determining our approach to this intersection going forward.

Resort Township is completely renovating Resort Pike Park on Walloon Lake. Once finished, this gem of a park will have an expanded beach area, a kayak/paddleboard launch, plus a completely new playground. In addition, the playground pad is being moved away from the road end to a safer and more scenic spot near the lake.

The total budget for this renovation project is almost $400,000, which after doing the landscaping and civil work, leaves the Township short on funding to completely pay for purchasing the $130,000 playground structure. Your donations will go directly toward purchase of the playground equipment and not be used for any other purpose.
