To my fellow Deputies of the Grant County Sheriff's Office,

For this Law Enforcement Appreciation Week, I want to take a moment to recognize the work you do every single day-work that often goes unseen by the public, but never goes unnoticed by those who serve beside you.

You answer calls on people's worse days. You step into dangerous, uncertain, and emotionally charge situations with professionalism, courage, and composure. Whether it's a domestic dispute at 2am, a medical emergency, a fatal crash, or simply being there for someone who has nowhere else to turn, you carry responsibilities that most people will never fully understand.

This profession demands sacrifice. It costs time with family, missed holidays, sleepless nights, and emotional burdens that are difficult to leave behind at the end of a shift. Yet despite those challenges, you continue to show up. You continue to serve our communities with integrity, dedication, and pride.

I appreciate not only the arrest made or calls answered, but also the compassion you show-the kindness shown to a victim, the patience displayed during stressful moments, and the teamwork that keeps each other safe. Those actions define true professionalism.

Law enforcement is more than a job. It is a commitment to service, accountability, and protecting others even when it comes to personal costs.

Thank you for your service, your resilience, and your continued dedication to the badge and to the people we serve.

Stay safe, watch your six, and never forget the difference you make every day!

Respectfully,
Daniel R. Lambert
Chief Deputy Sheriff
