UPDATE 9.23.26

Construction continues to be successful here at Parks & Rec! As with most projects, once you open up the puzzle of failed underground systems, there tends to be more damage than originally assessed. The amazing team of Ketchikan Mechanical and Rainforest Contracting have worked to excavate all the failed underground floor drain and sewer lines. The original damage to the family locker room was only a small portion of the unlaying damage. We are pleased with the continued excavation and installation of new plumbing tasks underway. While we have a loose timeline for the project's completion, it is best to understand that construction to complete includes, underground plumbing install, backfill, insulation, in floor heating reconnection, inspections, concrete pour, reconstruction of walls, toilet/shower partitions, cleaning and final inspections. We appreciate your patience.

PLEASE REMEMBER:
In the coming weeks the facility will adhere to the aquatic facility patron limitations of 40 patrons on the pool deck level (includes the sauna, both pools and lobby). No loitering is allowed in the lobby to allow for maximum patrons in the pool and sauna. The mezzanine level limitation is 15 active workout patrons only. No loitering is allowed on the mezzanine level. We thank you for your understanding as these limitations are set by the state fire marshal to allow proper egress in case of an emergency. Our number one priority is the safety of our patrons and these set limitation are in place for our community.

We realize the patron load limit hinders the ability to enjoy watching your kiddos swim, and we sincerely apologize. But if we want to keep the pool open then this is what we have to do for the time being. Please remain patient and we will be back to normal as soon as humanly possible!

PHS X-Country Meet Happening at and around Sandy Beach. Go Vikings!

PSG Cross Country Meet this weekend (Saturday 9/19)

Girls Race @ 10:00am; Boys Race @ 10:45am

Race will begin downhill at Frederick Sound Drive and go left on Haugen to Water Tank Road. Finish is at the North Shelter of Sandy Beach Rec Area.
