Just a reminder, don't leave anything of value in plain view within your vehicle. Take all personal possessions, (i.e., laptops, purses, money, credit cards, etc.) out of your vehicle to decrease your chances of becoming the next victim!

The Petersburg Bureau of Police have received numerous complaints in regards to shots being fired throughout the city. The Petersburg Bureau of Police has been and remains dedicated to protecting the Life, Limb, and Property of the residents of the city.. We respond to all calls for shots fired to investigate in order to confirm or dispel the complaint, arrest any violators, and to secure the public's safety. It is not a common practice in Law Enforcement Agencies throughout this Country to respond Code 3 (Blue Lights and Sirens) to shots fired calls as theses types of responses can have adverse affects when the "Call" did not warrant the Code 3 response. We do respond Code 3 to any reports of a person shot where the passing of time can be the difference between life and death. We take Gun Violence Calls Seriously and have always taken a Proactive approach to removing illegal guns from the streets in an effort to decrease these types of calls. If you have any information on a Crime involving an illegal Firearm or any other Crime, call the Petersburg / Dinwiddie Crime Solvers or the Petersburg Bureau of Police non emergency number at 732-4222 to share your information. You can remain anonymous!
