A group of 20 junior and senior students, including the PORTA CNA class, traveled to UIS to participate in the Nurse for a Day event. Students interacted with hands-on learning opportunities and heard from UIC College of Nursing staff and students about multiple areas of the medical field. WAND news outlet was at the event and featured an interview with one of our CNA students, Eli Koke. Check out the article on their website!

💗 PORTA went PINK today! 💗

Our school came together and wore pink in honor of the life and legacy of the one and only Dolly Parton. 💕 A little pink, a lot of love, and a whole school celebrating a true legend! 💗

PORTA Families,

We want to let you know that we are very much aware of the traffic congestion around PORTA Junior-Senior High School and PORTA Central during morning drop-off. We are actively looking at possible adjustments that may help improve traffic flow and make arrival safer and smoother for everyone.

For now, we are asking families who have students to drop off at PORTA Elementary to please drop those students off first before proceeding to PORTA Central or PORTA Junior-Senior High School. We believe this change may help reduce some of the congestion around Central and the Junior-Senior High School.

We will monitor traffic patterns and evaluate whether this adjustment improves the situation before determining if any additional changes are needed for next week.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work through these traffic concerns. Most importantly, thank you for continuing to be careful, patient, and keeping the safety of our students at the forefront of your thoughts as you travel through our school areas.

We appreciate everyone working together to help keep our students safe.
