🌪️ Statewide Tornado Drill Reminder 🌪️

The communities of Petersburg and Loretto will be participating in the Statewide Tornado Drill on Wednesday, March 25 at 10:00 AM CST.

🚨 During this time, outdoor warning sirens will sound as part of the drill. This is a great opportunity for families, businesses, and organizations to practice their severe weather safety plans and make sure everyone knows what to do in case of a real emergency.

⚠️ Please note: If severe weather is possible that day, the drill may be postponed or canceled.

Take a few minutes to review your safety plan and be prepared — it could make all the difference!

Effective immediately, the State of Nebraska has issued an Executive Order banning all Open Burn Permits for the next 14 days.

During this time, no burn permits can be issued for any purpose, and any previously issued permits that have not yet been completed are now null and void. Open burning is not allowed during this period.

State officials will review conditions before the 14-day period ends to determine if the ban needs to be extended. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we work together to keep our community safe during these dangerous fire conditions.
