⚽🎉 Thank You for an Amazing Youth Soccer Season! 🎉⚽

The Recreation Department would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our parents, players, coaches, volunteers, and staff for making this youth soccer season a tremendous success. Your dedication, sportsmanship, and support helped create a memorable experience for our young athletes both on and off the field.

We're excited to announce that this fall we will be partnering with the Petersburg Public Schools Athletics Department and Varsity Soccer Programs to further enhance our youth soccer experience. This collaboration will provide new opportunities for player development, mentorship, and community engagement as we continue to grow the game of soccer in Petersburg.

📢 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT 📢

Please be advised that the playground at Legends Park is currently UNAVAILABLE and CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC due to ongoing renovations.

📍 Legends Park | 1832 Johnson Rd, Petersburg, VA 23805

⚠️ For the safety of all residents, please DO NOT enter the playground area. The renovation site presents serious safety hazards and access is strictly prohibited until further notice.

We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we work to improve this space for our entire community. The great news when renovations are complete, Legends Park will have a brand new, fully ADA-compliant playground, ensuring every child and family member can play and enjoy it, regardless of ability! ♿🛝

We will provide updates on progress and announce the reopening date as soon as it is available. Thank you for helping keep our community safe!

Farmer Street Pool kicks off its 2026 season THIS Memorial Day Weekend, but heads up, we're NOT open today! Come splash with us starting TOMORROW and SUNDAY instead!

📅 Opening Weekend: Saturday, May 30 & Sunday, May 31
📍 1216 Farmer St.
🕛 Daily Hours: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
👥 Admission: FREE to the Public!
⚠️ Lifeguard Break: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM

After this weekend, we'll be open Tuesday–Saturday starting June 2 through August 15. Don't miss out on the fun we'll see you poolside! 🏊‍♀️💦

We're excited to announce that the Farmer Street Pool (1216 Farmer St.) will be opening for the 2026 season and admission is FREE to the public!
🗓️ Opening Weekend: May 23–25 (Memorial Day Weekend)
📅 Regular Season: Tuesday–Saturday, June 2 – August 15
🏖️ Weekend-Only Dates: May 29-30 | August 22–23 | August 29–30 | September 5–7 (Labor Day Weekend – final weekend)
🕛 Daily Hours: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
🚨 Lifeguard Break: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM (No swimming during this time)
Mark your calendars and grab your swimsuits, we can't wait to see you there! 💦

As our youth spring programs continue, the action is also going strong with our Adult Softball League! ⚾️

A special thank you to Ryan Massenburg for leading and overseeing the program. We also want to recognize our dedicated volunteer coaches, staff, players, and families who continue to give their time and energy to make each season a success.

Games are being played at Petersburg Sports Complex as teams continue competing throughout the season.

Even though we had a little rain, we didn't let it stop us from having our annual Senior Day Fish Fry yesterday!! Thank you to Mr. Q's BBQ for the terriffic fish, and sides! Thank you to all of our community partners, and city dignitaries for coming out to fellowship with us. it was a plum pleasing time!!

Games are being played at Petersburg Sports Complex, and we’re excited to continue traveling this year with our older age groups as they compete and represent our program.

On Wednesday our senior program took our annual spring trip to Hanover Tavern to see 'The Cottage'. The Virginia Repertory Theatre never disappoints with their quality of play performance, and production. Always a great time!! 🎭
