🏌️‍♂️ FREE YOUTH GOLF CLASSES THIS FALL! ⛳

The City of Petersburg Office of Recreation, in partnership with Dogwood Trace Golf Course and First Tee – Greater Richmond, is excited to offer FREE golf classes for City of Petersburg youth!

Participants will learn the fundamentals of golf while building confidence, developing new skills, making friends, and having fun. All skill levels are welcome—no previous golf experience is required.

We have some serious bowlers in our Senior Program! They showed off some of their skill this past Wednesday at Uptown Alley in Midlothian, VA. The less skilled bowlers had a great time as well! 😄🎳

🏆 UNDEFEATED CHAMPIONS! 🥎🏆

Congratulations to Team Our Turn Now (OTN) on an outstanding Spring 2026 season as the Petersburg Recreation Co-Ed Softball League Regular Season & Tournament Champions! 🎉

Team OTN completed the season undefeated, showcasing exceptional teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout every game at the Petersburg Sports Complex.

👏 Congratulations as well to Pound Softball, our Tournament Runner-Up, for an excellent season and a hard-fought championship appearance.

The City of Petersburg Recreation Department extends its sincere appreciation to all of our players, coaches, officials, families, and fans for making the Spring 2026 season a tremendous success. Your dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship continue to strengthen our community through recreation.

🛝🌳 Celebrating Progress at Legends Park! 🎉

The City of Petersburg is continuing to work diligently to improve and enhance our neighborhood parks, playgrounds, and recreational spaces. These investments reflect our commitment to creating safe, welcoming, and inclusive places where our children, families, and residents can gather, connect, and enjoy quality recreational opportunities.

We are excited to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the NEW ADA-accessible and inclusive playground at Legends Park! This new space was thoughtfully designed to provide children of all abilities the opportunity to play, explore, and create memories together.

During this special celebration, we are also proud to recognize an incredible young Petersburg author, Miss Destiny Bryant! 📚✨

At just 6 years old, Destiny reached an amazing milestone by publishing her first children’s book. Through her passion for reading and storytelling, she continues to inspire her peers and promote literacy in our community through her “Story Time with Destiny Book Exchange,” a public book exchange kiosk created to encourage children to read, share, and discover new stories.

Destiny’s achievement represents the creativity, talent, and leadership of the young people who make Petersburg special. We are proud to celebrate her accomplishment and the positive impact she is making in our community.

As our Summer Camp comes to a close, we are proud to celebrate a special milestone for some of our young ladies who recently completed an Etiquette Class. To commemorate their hard work and the valuable life skills they learned, they enjoyed a beautiful Tea Party filled with elegance, confidence, and celebration.

A special thank you to the Petersburg Public Library for graciously providing the venue, Instructor TeAunte Phillips for sharing her knowledge and inspiring our participants, Granny's Love Catering for the wonderful refreshments and hospitality, and our entire Recreation, Special Events & Volunteerism team for helping make this memorable event possible.

Experiences like these go beyond recreation—they build confidence, character, and life skills that will benefit our youth for years to come. We are incredibly proud of each participant and wish all of our campers a safe, fun, and successful school year!

Another great day at the Petersburg Recreation Department's FREE Summer Camp! 🍕☀️

Our campers and staff enjoyed another exciting Pizza Party, and the smiles say it all! Check out these great photos of our youth and team having an amazing time together.

We were proud to serve more than 150 youth and staff during today's celebration. The fun continues next Thursday as we look forward to our special Chick-fil-A Day for all campers and staff!

Thank you to everyone who helps make our summer camp a safe, fun, and memorable experience for Petersburg's youth.
