We had a great time at the annual picnic by the Petaluma Blacks for Community Development this past weekend. We collected some great feedback on what people would like in an open space park along the upper Petaluma River. Proceeds support Friends’ Watershed Classroom program, teaching over 800 students each year about the Petaluma Watershed, and scholarships for underserved youth to attend nature camp on the River. Enjoy a night out on the River and help create the next generation of River stewards!

This last school year, our Watershed Classroom program served over 800 students, getting them outside connecting to and learning about the Petaluma Watershed. We’ll meet at Steamer Landing Park at 9am for snacks, supplies and a safety talk before heading to locations throughout town.
Then return at noon for a BBQ with a raffle and live music by the Amity Janes.
