Since 1939, the men and woman of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary have volunteered millions of hours in support of the Coast Guard and the recreational boating public consisting of our many boating safety classes, distributing boating safety information to the public, providing free v

essel safety checks, and doing safety patrols on land, water, and in the air. Support of Maritime Homeland Security and other maritime safety challenges that have emerged in recent years.

Went out to training center Petaluma TRACEN with my nephew and some fellow COASTIES to celebrate COAST Guard Day this weekend. It was a nice sunny day on base with lots of Coast Guard members and families enjoying their time together visiting, playing games, listening to music and eating some tasty food and beverages. There was really great classic car show as well!😊 Happy birthday USCG!

Ahoy!! The Bodega Bay Fish Festival is just over a month away on May 3rd and 4th. Flotilla 55 Sonoma County will be participating again this year with a Recreational Boating Safety Booth. Ahoy Folks! Our Crew had a great time at the 2025 Steelhead Festival in February. It was a beautiful sunny day, we got to see the Steelhead coming up Dry Creek Valley to the Hatchery at Lake Sonoma CA.
We took time to check out all the interesting booths talked to local boaters and folks out for a relaxing Saturday between rain storms. Good Times in Beautiful Sonoma County!!

Hey Shipmates! Its been busy summer and now fall of Coast Guard Auxiliary and Coast Guard Events!! We last month we participated in some Labor Day Events and a Patrol on Lake Sonoma. I was also lucky enough to take the helm aboard Audrey L last week in training with Coast Guard Station Vallejo. Audrey L is a 24ft. Vietnam Era Navy Vessel own by FC Tom Hurley of Flotilla 51 Vallejo CA.

AHOY!! Flotilla 52 Napa is hosting this awesome boating class on Saturday September 7th in Benicia Ca. This is the perfect class for the spouse, partner or friend of a skipper that goes out on the water frequently or occasionally, and would not feel comfortable taking control of the vessel if something were to happen to the skipper.
